The inspiring journey of Goldburger.
Established in late 2018 and smashing grass-fed beef since day one, our focus has always been to mix the highest quality ingredients with just the right nostalgic elements, like American cheese, house-made sauces, and a locally baked plush white bun. We prepare LA style smashburgers that are meant to evoke everything that's great about this city.
After months of cooking at the best coffee shops, bars, and breweries in the city we were invited to LA Food & Wine in August of 2019. Competing against some of the best restaurants, chefs, and pop-ups in LA we served 800 smashburgers and where ultimately voted the Best Burger in LA!
The next thing we needed to do was plant our first flag, so in October 2019 we setup a semi-permanent but definitely temporary pop-up on a Silver Lake patio, right on Sunset Blvd. We had a brief but amazing opportunity to serve people and give them a place to sit and enjoy a weekend lunch. On March 15th 2020, the same day restaurants were shut down due to the pandemic, we held our last pop-up in Silver Lake to a constant line until sell out.
Our next pop-up location was in Highland Park, which opened on May 14th 2020. We opened with a walk up style window and a revamped mobile ordering system and were lucky enough to feed our friends and neighbors during those early months of the pandemic. Ultimately we decided to stick around, turning it into our very first bricks and mortar restaurant!
Just over a year later, on September 16 2021, we opened our second restaurant in Los Feliz. Located on Vermont Ave. between Skylight Books and the iconic Los Feliz movie theatre, we couldn't be happier to be on one of the most walkable and charming streets in the city.
In 2023 we partnered with Cream Co Meats to further improve our sourcing by using exclusively 100% Grass-Fed AND Grass-Finished beef from California ranches practicing regenerative agriculture for every single burger made at Goldburger.

His passion for food and burgers crystallizes into the vision for Goldburger sometime thereafter.
GOLD BURGER DEBUTS
The first Goldburger opens in Highland Park, ushering in the second great gold rush in human history.
COVID!
A small number of people are seen tearing holes in COVID masks, presumably to ensure easy passage of Goldburgers. The timing is suspicious, to say the least.
FELIZ LOS FELIZ
Goldburger Los Feliz opens next to an old movie theater. To date, Goldburger has a higher aggregate IMDB rating than any movie the theater next door has ever screened.
VOTED BEST BURGER IN LA
You read that right: best in Los Angeles, a place where nearly 20 million people live. (If you include surrounding areas; if we’re only talking city limits, it’s nearly 4 million, which is still pretty good.) And not a single one of them has ever made a better burger.

I don't know if it's something in the beef blend they're using or if it's just the combo of grilled onions, that sauce, and those beautiful smashed patties, but it managed to be so much more than the sum of its parts. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Bravo.
Let’s talk about the service oh my goodness it was amazing!!! We ordered the meal and I messed up didn’t ask what type of fries and when the order came out it was regular fries and I thought it would’ve been curly fries he went ahead no questions asked threw in curly fries now the burger wow!!! Super juicy just perfection. Drove all the way from OC to give it a shot will come back no doubt
Smash burger is the star here and a real treat. Tried the Reuben which was also good. Single burger is pretty filling. This is my go to for a good burger around here.

Ofc all very subjective but if I'd live here I would surely visit again and enjoy another smashburger.

There is probably only one thing the could improve regarding the burger:
The buns.
They were the weakest part of this very great burgers.
A high quality brioche bun would make this burger way better even though they are already great.
One of the best smash burgers I’ve had in a long time!! It’s literally a window right next to the theater. There’s a cool hip bookstore next to it too. Parking may be difficult, but there’s a street right next to it where I parked. (no restrictions as of 08/06/23)Good vibes, gold burgers, and delicious curly fries. Tiny little store, not a lot of seats inside, but they have chairs right outside. I also tried the Swell Pomegranate soda, it was really good, but I personally don’t drink soda. AND, clean restroom.

I have followed the Goldburger IG for a few months now and was happy to see them set up shop in my own neighborhood. I heard about National Cheeseburger Day after I finished eating but I went here the next day.I had the Goldburger (double cheeseburger with minimal fixings), fries and Swell Soda cola. Everything was excellent. Good well. Well seasoned. Excellent quality hamburger. I got a side of mustard ailoi with the fries. The fries were fresh cut.
Stopped by for the happy hour special as a late lunch and was not disappointed. There's inside and outside seating and the staff were prompt and efficient. The classic smashed burger was juicy and delicious, the fries were hot and fresh, and the ginger ale was great as well.
Definitely stop by if you're in the area!
Best smash burger in the area. Wasn’t planning on having gold burger but I passed by and just had to get my fix.
